The following are designated as main trafficways of the city pursuant to K.S.A. 12-685 et seq. for purposes of bond financing certain improvements:

       West Fourth Street between Washington Street and Elvira Street; Sixth Street between School Street and Porter Street; East Eighth Street between Washington Street and Harrison Street; West Ninth Street between Harrison Street and Commercial Street; Eleventh Street between Hanover Street and Elvira Street; Fourteenth Street between Washington Street and Elvira Street; Franklin Street between East Eleventh Street and East Thirteenth Street; Harrison Street between East Sixth Street and East Fourteenth Street; Milton Street between West Fourth Street and West Sixth Street, Milton Street between West Eighth Street and West Eleventh Street; Milton Street from School Street to School Street; School Street between West Fourth Street and West Eighth Street; School Street between West Eleventh Street and West Fourteenth Street; Commercial Street between West Eighth Street and West Ninth Street; and Park Drive between Washington Street and Kellogg Lane.

A majority of the electors voting thereon have approved, at a special question election held on the 2nd day of November, 2010, the levying of a retailers’ sales tax in the City of Auburn, for the special purpose of providing an adequate level of public services within the City, specifically for repairs and maintenance to City streets and roads, as authorized by K.S.A. 12-187 et seq., and amendments thereto. Therefore, there is hereby levied a city retailers’ sales tax in the amount of a one-half percent (0.5%) to take effect on the 1st day of April, 2011.
